Vinyasa
More of a creative, active practice in which the breath is aligned with a flowing sequence, moving from one posture (asana) to another, holding some of them from 1 to 5 breaths.
This yoga style helps to improve muscle strength, flexibility, mobility and cardiovascular health.
Yin
A slow-paced practice, targeting mainly the muscle tissues. We stay in the postures passively for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the body and mind to open up and release tension.
Hatha
Hatha (ha= sun, tha = moon)
A sequence of more static postures, held for >5 breaths. Hatha Yoga creates balance in both sides of our body, which are energetically divided in left (moon, feminine) and right (sun, masculine) by doing each asana on the right, followed by the left side.
Ashtanga
Ash (ash = 8, anga (= limbs)
Following a traditional, set sequence of postures (only primary and intermediate series)
All classes end with a relaxation pose, the corpse pose (Savasana)
